Just joined, from accross the pond (USA).
I have been to Bath and really liked the people and the area.
I wish to be apart of this group because I have a 1971 1302 RHD.
I am hopping to make some contacts in the UK so if the time arises that I need some small parts, that I can have a stash of friends overseas.

The only thing is that my RHD came from Japan. I do not speak or read Japanese, so I thought I would try to join a UK site. I guess it doesn't matter, but mine appears to be the stripped down 1302, and not the 1302L or 1302S, (it has an AB block taht appears to still be a 1300DP.)

Any way just wanted to say "hello."

Have a great day,
KC

oops.
I was trying to edit out a spelling error only to create another...
Well, I do have one question.
Does any one know if the steering box is the same for a LHD and a RHD super?
I have the death shakes at approx. 45 mph and am checking things out.
My steering box is loose approx 1.75 inches of steering wheel play, and is leaking oil.
I think the majority of the problems are in the idler arm bushings though.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
KC

Have another question:
Is the muffler the same size on my AB 1300DP as a standard latter engine.
The OEM VW muffler is blown out around the tail pipe.
I would appreciate it if any one knows...

Hi, as long as you don't have a twin hotspot inlet manifold all 1300-1600 exhausts should fit. You can see the difference if you look on some of the uk shop web sites eg vw heritage. Hope this is of some help.
